About VanDeStreek
VanDeStreek is a leading craft beer brewery from Utrecht, the Netherlands, founded by brothers Ronald and Sander van de Streek. What began as homebrewing experiments in Sander's apartment in Kanaleneiland around 2009 has grown into one of the biggest independent craft breweries in the Netherlands, with their beers now available in supermarkets, bottle shops and bars throughout the country. The brewery's journey from hobby to profession was marked by key milestones. Their beers were first introduced to the public at the Utrecht Beer Brewers Festival in May 2013, when production was still just 50 litres per brew. A successful crowdfunding campaign in 2016 allowed Ronald and Sander to become full-time brewers, and their own brewery facility opened for production in 2017. VanDeStreek made history in March 2017 by becoming the first craft brewery in the Netherlands to produce an alcohol-free IPA - their acclaimed Playground. Created in collaboration with a German master brewer, Playground uses a unique yeast variety and specially installed brewing equipment to achieve low alcohol content without dealcoholisation or unusual ingredients. The result earned first place in De Volkskrant's alcohol-free beer tasting competition in the "other style" category. UK shoppers can find VanDeStreek's alcohol-free craft beers at Tesco, including the flagship Playground IPA (0.5% ABV) made with five varieties of American hops, and the Fun House NEIPA showcasing the brewery's commitment to bold, flavourful alcohol-free brewing.
