About Mumtaz
Mumtaz is a British South Asian food company and restaurant group headquartered in Bradford, England, founded in 1979 by Mumtaz Khan Akbar. The story began when Farzand Begum, mother of the Mumtaz family, opened a tiny four-square-metre shop on Great Horton Road in Bradford, which quickly became famous for its authentic Kashmiri cuisine. The Mumtaz Group has grown to include restaurants, a food processing division, and international exports. Mumtaz Food Industries operates from facilities in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire, with additional production in Spain, Switzerland, Pakistan, Malaysia, and France. This global network enables Mumtaz to export products to over 36 countries worldwide. Mumtaz pioneered the introduction of Halal baby food to the market, demonstrating their innovation in the South Asian food sector. Their product range includes authentic ready meals such as Chicken Karahi & Pilau Rice and Chicken Tikka Masala & Pilau Rice. Their pilau rice features basmati rice cooked with onions, garlic, ginger, and a blend of Mumtaz herbs and spices.
